Mr. John Diemand, president of the INA Corporation, provided inspiring leadership in pioneering and securing multiple-line underwriting authority for American insurance companies. One of the first internationalists in insurance in the United States, he was largely instrumental in creating the Hemispheric Insurance Conference to promote international understanding of the role of insurance and private enterprise throughout the Western Hemisphere.
He established comprehensive educational programs within his company on a scale more professional than before known in the property and liability insurance field. He was a champion of competition in the public interest and in initiating and innovating new forms, rating procedures and insurance service.
He was a philanthropist and humanitarian with interests and activities wide ranging in enhancing human dignity.
